Meet the Team

Our team brings a wealth of experience from some of the most formidable engineering and manufacturing industries around.

From time served handle turners to tech-savvy apprentices we have a wide range of engineering skills to ensure we can grind features to 5 micron accuracy as well as programme the latest CNC and EDM technology.


Andrew Hosking

Managing Director

Andrew has set up, run, and bought a number of companies in the last 25 years. Having originally been described as a 'natural engineer', he now fulfills the role of Managing Director to great effect. His strategic vision, paired with his day to day management skills have driven the company to where it is today.

James Gazzard

Commercial Manager

James joined the company in 2006 having gained a 1st class Business Management Degree. He has steadily progress through the Customer Service, Marketing and Sales ranks and now runs the Sales and Marketing Team. He is a Chartered Marketer, has a Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing, and is a Non-Executive Director in his spare time.

Daniel Hutchings

Operations Manager

Having won awards for his engineering prowess as an apprentice, Daniel has steadily worked his way up through the company, from skilled engineer, CAD/CAM technician, to Production engineer, to his current role as Operations Manager where he is involved with organising and motivating the engineering team as well as planning the production schedule.

Diane Stribley

Finance Manager

With wide-ranging financial and management account experience in a variety of markets within both the voluntary, public and private sector Diane is well placed to manage our finance department. Part qualified CIMA and MAAT, Diane oversees all of the financial functions of the group companies. In her spare time, Diane enjoys horse riding, cycling and walking her dog.


Paul Emmery

WES Customer Support Advisor

Paul Emmery joined us in 2008 as a logistics expert with extensive MOD experience. Paul initially focussed on improving our logistics processes and stock control, making sweeping changes to streamline operations before moving into a customer support role within WES due to his attention to detail, customer focus and diligence. If you need a quote, an update on your order or any other query Paul will assist. Paul also acts as our H&S Manager. Paul volunteers with Oxfam at the weekend and is an ardent West Ham united supporter (Come on you Irons!).

David Gardener

Technical Support Engineer (Resistance Welding)

As a highly trained engineer and fully qualified CAD/CAM technician, Dave is able to provide complete technical solutions to his clients throughout the UK. He has an excellent knowledge of spot welding applications as well as general and advanced engineering capabilities.

Sean Murphy

WES Key Account Manager

Sean is responsible for developing and managing some of our key accounts. He has been involved in the resistance welding industry for most of his working life and has excellent knowledge of resistance welding applications and techniques. He is a fully trained CAD/CAM technician and uses Solid Works on a daily basis.

Geoff Higgs

WES Technical Support Engineer

Geoff is our Technical Support Engineer in the South of the UK. He has many years of experience in the field of resistance welding, and joined WES in 1998. If you have a resistance welding problem, Geoff is your man.

Aaron Polhill

HME Technical Support Engineer & Customer Service Advisor

Aaron Polhill is in his second spell at WES having completed an engineering apprenticeship and then a HNC in Mechanical engineering before spending time travelling and gaining further experience in machining and design. In 2017 Aaron re-joined the company in our Hardmetal division as a Technical Support Engineer and is on hand to assist with any technical or customer service queries. In his spare time Aaron is an adrenaline junkie having jumped out of a plane over 400 times and is regularly found jumping off cliffs, playing underwater hockey, surfing or doing some other daredevil activity.

Brian Farrow

HME Key Account Manager

Brian Farrow joined us in January 2020 as Key Account Manager for our Hardmetal customers. Brian has more than 40 years’ experience working in precision engineering and is a specialist in Tungsten Carbide. Based In Northampton Brian spends his time visiting customers around the country and improving product design and lifespan.
