We specialise in lightweight yet durable materials, including aluminium, titanium, and advanced alloys — ideal for aerospace, missile, and drone applications.

Supporting a Changing Defence Landscape

The UK and European defence markets are entering a period of renewed growth, driven by increased investment in air supremacy technologies — including manned and unmanned aircraft, missiles, and next-generation drones. Across Europe, military aircraft production is expected to almost double in the coming years, and missile systems are being developed faster and at lower cost through the adoption of lighter materials and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) components.

While major naval and land-based programmes remain stable, much of the near-term focus lies in MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) for existing assets, munitions production, and the development of agile, scalable supply chains capable of rapid response. WES is well positioned to contribute to this evolving landscape, offering medium to large batch machining as well as specialist small-batch and re-machining support for MRO operations.

Our experience within the aerospace sector — supplying into supply chains such as GKN Aerospace and Leonardo underpins our readiness to meet the same standards of performance, reliability, and compliance in defence applications.
